Importing Telco Records

Top  Previous  Next

The Import process window is very similar to the Export window.  The Import process is simply reversed from the Export process.  The 'import' file appears on the right side and your current file appears on the left side.  The Import process will not over-write a record in your existing file, rather it will be added to your existing file even if the record already exist.

You may 'import' records from files that were generated by TelcoMgr at an alternate location. Copy the records to the appropriate sub-directory. The default directory is 'c:\sword\export'.

TelcoMgr will seek the following files:

xtelco.tps

xcircuits.tps

xdirectry.tps

xratecomp.tps

xtelhist.tps

Note: Systems and component records may not be exported or imported.

Optionally you may copy the files to the appropriate directory or you may enter the path for each file or you may use the file selection [...] button to navigate to where the files have been stored, such as a floppy disk (A:\telco.tps).

TelcoMgr uses the same directory and file names for both the Export and Import processes.  Therefore, you should be sure that you have correctly identified the location of the records that you wish to process (export/import).  However, the Export/Import process will not over-write any existing records in the Export/Import file or your current TelcoMgr records file.
